Subscription cost calculator

Small monthly payments look harmless on their own. Added together, they can be a serious yearly amount. List your subscriptions below to see what they cost per month, per year and over five years — and what cancelling the ones you can live without could save.

Your numbers never leave this page — the maths runs in your browser, and nothing is sent or stored anywhere.

Why small subscriptions add up

A €9.99 subscription does not feel like a decision worth revisiting. But per year it is about €120, and five of them together are about €600 — every year, whether you use them or not. Automatic payments are easy to forget: the amount is small, nothing reminds you, and cancelling takes more effort than ignoring it.

How it is calculated

Monthly prices are multiplied by 12; yearly prices are counted as they are. The five-year figure is the yearly total times five, at today's prices — it does not include price rises or inflation. The "could save" line adds up the rows you ticked as ones you could drop.

How to find the ones you forgot

  • Read the last two months of your bank and card statements and list every repeating payment.
  • Look back a full year too — yearly renewals (domains, apps, insurance add-ons) are easy to miss in a monthly view.
  • Check the app-store subscriptions on your phone; trials that quietly became paid usually live there.
  • Compare today's price with what you signed up for. Prices rise, and old subscriptions are rarely reviewed.

Monthly or yearly billing?

Some yearly plans cost less than paying monthly, but a yearly plan only pays off for things you are sure you will still use in a year. For everything else, monthly billing makes it easier to stop. Either way, put a reminder a few days before the renewal date, so the renewal is a decision and not an accident.

Curious what the cancelled ones could become? Put the yearly amount into our compound interest calculator and see what it grows into if you save it instead. For a simple habit around checking your money, see our monthly money routine.

Everything on this page is calculated in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to a server, stored, or shared. The "copy link" button is the only thing that puts your list in the link, and only when you press it.
