Shared Finances
Shared Finances connects two people's Bilance accounts into one household picture. Each partner chooses, bank account by bank account, what to share: the joint account goes in, the personal accounts stay private. Both keep their own login, and both see the shared picture combined with their own.
How it works
Partners pair with an invitation code from Settings. From then on, every view in the app can filter to Your Data, Partner's Shared, or All — including AI Chat, so "what did we spend on groceries this month?" gets a household answer. Both partners can recategorize shared transactions so the household analytics stay accurate, while only the owner changes protected fields, and custom categories work across shared data. If sharing ever stops, the partner's data is removed from the other device.
Built for how couples actually share
Most couples are financially entangled but not identical: shared rent, separate hobbies. Per-account sharing matches that reality — one household picture, personal autonomy intact.
The "who paid what" bookkeeping ends. Groceries split across two cards still land in one household total, with no screenshots and no monthly settling-up ritual. And household questions get household answers, not per-person fragments.
Honest limits
Sharing covers accounts, transactions and categories. Budgets, recurring payments and tags stay personal for now. Subscriptions are per person, though on iOS one subscription can cover both partners through Apple Family Sharing.
Frequently asked questions
Does my partner see all my accounts?
No. Sharing is per bank account: the joint account can be shared while personal accounts stay private. Each partner keeps their own login and chooses what the other sees.
What happens if we stop sharing?
The partner’s data is removed from the other device. Sharing is opt-in and reversible.
Do we both need a Bilance subscription?
On iOS, not necessarily: the Bilance subscription supports Apple Family Sharing, so when you are in the same Family Sharing group, one subscription can cover both partners. On Android each partner subscribes separately — Google Play does not offer subscription sharing. Either way you each keep your own Bilance account, which is what keeps private accounts genuinely private.
